I love photographing mother daughter moments on wedding days, probably because I think about how it will be when my own girls get married. They were finishing up with hair and makeup, so I got to work on her gorgeous details before Erin gave her mom a sweet gift and got into her dress. Bro hugs all around!Īfter the big surprise, we headed over to meet up with Erin. He was so surprised to see Christian walk out of the gazebo. When Christian arrived, we set him up behind the house where Mitch and the guys were all getting ready and then brought Mitch out back to take some “groom photos”. Erin had reached out to Michael and I a couple of weeks before the wedding to make sure that we would be able to capture the surprise on video and in pictures. ![]() However, what Mitch didn’t know, is that Christian found a way to attend after all, and he and Erin were working behind the scenes to surprise Mitch. He has a very close friend, Christian, in the military that wasn’t going to be able to make the wedding. ![]() When I arrived to Stone Tower property on their wedding day, I met up with Michael, the videographer to help orchestrate a very fun surprise for Mitch. They decided last minute to add a tent on the patio of Stone Tower Winery so that they could have a few more people celebrating with them on their special day. I’ve been excited for Mitch and Erin’s Stone Tower Winery wedding since the day Erin message me on Instagram asking if I’d be their wedding photographer. Throughout the day, these two added special touches as a nod to their families, including building Ryan’s ring around his great-grandfather’s ring, pieces of Lydia’s great-grandmother’s gown on her bouquet, and even Ryan’s father singing during their ceremony. Speaking of their venue, Lydia and Ryan told me they knew it would be the perfect place almost immediately. Everything came together beautifully at Stone Tower Winery. Their color palette focused on a gorgeous slate blue, perfect for a mid-May wedding! Since Lydia and Ryan love designs that are clean cut, simple, yet elegant – most of the day was built around this vision. With the help of their talented planner, Rachel at The One Moment Events, Lydia and Ryan’s visions of an elegant wedding day at the winery came true. Ryan proposed to Lydia almost exactly one year ago last May and they started planning their wedding at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia. Since then, they’ve shared many life experiences, including periods of long distance between them with Ryan being in the Coast Guard, but their love has only grown stronger. They quickly became good friends and two years later, they started dating. Lydia and Ryan met on their college class Facebook page the summer before they went off to college. ![]()
